Step by Step Guide
Applies to all GoodWe inverters with Wi-Fi dongle and SEMS Portal app.
Before reconnecting, make sure your GoodWe inverter is powered on.
Check these two indicators:
- Orange LED on the inverter: If the orange light flashes twice, the inverter is not connected to Wi-Fi.
- Blue LED on the Wi-Fi dongle: If there is no solid blue light, the inverter is not connected to the internet. If either indicator shows a disconnection, continue with the steps below.
1. Check your Wi-Fi signal strength
Stand next to your GoodWe inverter with your phone and make sure your home Wi-Fi network appears in the available list.
If the Wi-Fi signal in this area is weak or not visible, install a Wi-Fi extender or use a wired Ethernet connection.
2. Activate Wi-Fi Access Point
Open your Goodwe SEMS Portal app on your smartphone or tablet and select WI-FI CONFIGURATION in the bottom right-hand corner of the login screen.
Make sure your Goodwe inverteris powered ON and select next.
Select the GO INTO WLAN SETTING INTERFACE button, a pop up will appear with all the information you need to connect to your inverter network.
3. Connect device Wi-Fi
Open up the WI-FI SETTINGS on your smartphone or tablet and find your solar inverter network “Solar-WiFi########” and enter the password “12345678”.
Once you’ve connected to the inverter network, reopen the Goodwe SEMS app.
4. Network setup
Within the Goodwe SEMS Portal app, select NEXT again.
When prompted, select “the desired wireless network for the inverter” (your home Wi-Fi network) and select CONNECTION.
You’ve successfully configured your inverter and the power light or Wi-Fi light should now be solid (no flashing).
5. Wait for the inverter to reconnect
Your configuration is now complete.
You can disconnect your phone from the inverter hotspot.
Within 30–40 seconds:
- The Wi-Fi dongle will show a solid blue light
- The orange light on the inverter will change from flashing to solid
This confirms your GoodWe inverter is successfully reconnected to Wi-Fi.
