Who Ohme are
Ohme was founded in London in 2017 by David Watson and Derry Guy, out of research into how electric vehicles could help balance electricity supply and demand rather than just draw power from it. The company built its first working charger prototype in 2018, with production units following in 2019 in partnership with UK energy retailer Octopus Energy.
Ohme entered the Australian market in 2024, opening a local office in Sydney to support customers directly rather than routing everything back to the UK.

Rather than compete on being the biggest charger manufacturer, Ohme has focused on one thing: making a charger that reads electricity tariffs and adjusts charging accordingly. In Australia, that has meant integrating with more than 14,000 individual electricity tariffs, a level of tariff-specific detail a general purpose charger would not typically attempt.
