Our Approach

At Essential Solar we regard each customer as an important part of our business. We pride ourselves on providing advice, support and service where and when it’s needed. Most importantly the installation quality of our Solar PV products is managed by experienced electrical technicians and engineers.

The questions we ask before every project:

Does the system we’re providing provide our customer a positive long term return?

Will these products provide a positive environmental impact over their lifespan?

Does this supplier behave in an ethical way? Are we treating this customer fairly?

Our Process

Initial Contact

When you submit an online enquiry, request a solar quote or give us a call, a member of our friendly customer service team will talk you through the process of installing solar. They will ask for some basic information about your home, and arrange a time for a technical solar adviser to visit your home and meet with you.
Unlike many in the industry, we don’t cold call, door knock or buy lists of unsolicited leads.

In Home Consultation

One of our highly experienced technical advisers will visit your home. They will analyse your electricity bill and usage profile and gain an understanding of your motivation to install solar. They will inspect your property to ensure the correct size and type of system for your needs. They will be able to explain the advantages of different products, answer any questions you may have and also provide some useful hints to get the maximum benefit from your installation. This is a free consultation with no obligation to purchase.
Unlike many in the industry, we visit your home to ensure we provide you with the best solution – we don’t just send you a cost based on what we can see on Google Maps.

System Design

Based on what we learn during our visit to your home, our Clean Energy Council (CEC) accredited solar designers will create a system that best meets your needs. This system will take into account your unique energy usage profile and the unique aspects of your property while offering the best financial return possible. We will only recommend Solar Energy Products that meet your needs. We don’t have sales people who receive a commission based on how much you spend – so you aren’t pressured into unnecessary up-sells.
Essential Solar are proud to be a CEC Approved Solar Retailer
Unlike many in the industry, we don’t package end of line products with cheap components, disregarding the quality and performance of your system.

Navigating Red Tape

Our customer service team will assist you in navigating the various requirements prior to, and after,  your solar installation. Some processes such as network Permission To Connect we will complete on your behalf, others such the Solar Victoria rebate must be completed by you – however our team will guide you through the process and help you ensure it goes as smoothly as possible.

Installation Day

Once your rebate has been approved, our customer service team will be in touch to arrange an installation date. Your installation will be completed by one of our five in-house teams. Our teams all work to the same exacting standards, use the same materials and follow the same processes. The installers will arrive around 7am, and most installs are completed same day. The installers will let you know if they need access to the inside of your home, and once the install is completed they will give you a run through of how the system works.
Unlike many in the industry, we don’t contract your install out to the lowest bidder, washing their hands of any responsibility in the process

Inspection & Metering

Once your install is completed we book an independent electrical inspector to confirm compliance of your system. This can take up to 10 business days to complete. We then submit a copy of your Electrical Certificate of SafetyElectrical Works Request  and a Generator Connection Form to your retailer. You also receive copy of these documents. You can then contact your retailer to arrange a tariff  and they will inform your distributor of the required meter works. The distributor will either upgrade your meter to a smart meter or they will reconfigure the existing meter to reflect your solar install.

Monitoring & Maintenance

Once your system is all up and running, we are always here to troubleshoot any issues you may have, provide advice on how to get the most out of your investment and deal with any service related issues.
