Tesla's Powerwall 3 is a fully integrated DC-coupled lithium iron phosphate (LFP) all-in-one home energy storage system, designed for residential applications with a built-in solar inverter, high continuous power output, and whole-home backup capability.
The Tesla Powerwall 3 is a fixed-capacity all-in-one unit combining a hybrid inverter and battery in a single enclosure. It comes in one capacity of 14 kWh total with 13.5 kWh usable, and can be scaled by adding Powerwall 3 Expansion units each adding a further 13.5 kWh. The system delivers up to 11.04 kW of continuous AC output and supports up to 20 kW of DC solar input via 3 MPPT channels. It is IP67 rated for indoor or outdoor installation. The Powerwall 3 comes with a 10-year product and performance warranty, guaranteeing 70% capacity retention after 10 years with unlimited charge cycles. Note that the full 10-year warranty requires the unit to remain connected to the internet for remote firmware updates. If this connection is not maintained, the warranty may be limited to 4 years.
